We compare air purifiers so you buy the right one once
PureAir Lab exists to answer one question honestly: which air purifier actually clears the air in your space, without the marketing hype?
Why we built PureAir Lab
Air purifiers should be simple — but the market is a mess. Coway, Levoit, Blueair, and Dyson each split into confusing model tiers, CADR ratings get buried, and "HEPA" labels don't all mean the same thing. We started PureAir Lab to cut through that noise with plain-English comparisons and verdicts you can act on.
How we compare
Our verdicts draw on manufacturer specifications, third-party lab data, and aggregated owner reviews — not paid placements. We weigh the things that decide whether a purifier is worth it for you:
- Clean-air delivery — CADR ratings and the real room size a unit can keep up with.
- Filtration — true-HEPA vs "HEPA-type," activated carbon for odors and smoke, and what each captures.
- Living with it — noise levels, energy use, and smart features that genuinely help.
- Running costs — replacement-filter prices and how often they need changing.
How we stay independent
PureAir Lab is reader-supported. Some links on our site are affiliate links — including Amazon links and links to air-purifier retailers — and we may earn a commission when you sign up or buy through them, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Those commissions fund our testing. They never decide our rankings. We recommend what we'd tell a friend to buy, full stop. See our full affiliate disclosure for details.
